Printmaking is the closest thing to magic that I know……

I read that somewhere in the last few days, but before I could find it, I had closed the tab.

Any way who ever she or he was, how true.I had set myself a challenge of producing a print in the theme of “Portrait”, for the upcoming Inglewood Arts Hub, (more about this wonderful new artist’s collective later).

I choose the mother of a student of mine as a subject as she is always asking about Matisse.

So I drew her and transferred the contour drawing into a painted mono type print in dry point. Then of course I had to do some variations to challenge my etching press!!!!!!!

So, like the students at Hogwarts, I let the magic happen to find out where it would take me. Your spells do not always work in the way you expected, but that is the magic of print making.
